Baby Shower Diaper Cakes

Baby shower diaper cakes are popular centerpieces. While a traditional cake allows guests to savor the moment with a sweet treat at the baby shower, diaper cakes are practical for the new parents. Rattlecake uses 80 to 150 diapers to design the cakes and includes several other baby products that new parents will need. Often, blankets, baby clothes, toys, and bath products are also added.

A baby shower is often designed with a theme in mind, and the diaper cakes need to blend in. In many cases, the parents have already found out the sex of their new child by the time a shower is planned, and their friends and family already know. Pink or blue, from the décor to the cake, is acceptable as a theme, and many baby shower diaper cakes are created with this color combination in mind. Aside from these basic colors, animals, sports, and holidays are common themes for diaper cakes.

Some expecting parents, however, are reluctant to reveal the sex of their baby – or simply haven’t found out themselves. Others prefer to stay away from the pink and blue dichotomy associated with baby gifts, and they are planning to take a unisex or neutral approach to the shower and baby products in general. Many baby shower diaper cakes are created with this in mind.

While a diaper cake makes an attractive centerpiece to the shower, its use goes into effect once the party is over. New parents need as many baby products as they can get, particularly smaller items and diapers, and such cakes start them off with the products they’ll need. The 80 to 150 diapers will be used soon enough, and the various blankets, clothing, and toys attached will be needed during the first year.
